Preview: Mauricio Pochettino’s men return to action this Saturday against Liverpool in the Barclays premier league, in what is being described as yet another cup final for the Lillywhites. The players will likely face a tough test against a somewhat unpredictable Liverpool side, Jurgen Klopp’s men currently sit ninth in the league table, and Klopp this week discussed prioritising their match with Dortmund this coming Thursday in the Europa league as its their only chance of getting champions league football next season. A weakened Liverpool 11 would undoubtedly be a huge plus for our lads as they beseech those three points, however our form away to Liverpool over recent seasons has been poor, having last won at Anfielfd in 2011. Although this season we are ultimately a much changed side and Pochettino spoke of the players belief of winning ahead of tomorrow’s match, in addition I believe we stand a very good chance of winning tomorrow and I believe the midfield will be imperative to our success. Dembele and Dier in the midfield will hopefully overwhelm Liverpool as the pair have the tenacity to halt their game plan, furthermore Alderweireld and Wimmer will be hoping to stop Roberto Firmino from adding to his goal account. There is no doubting Liverpool’s class, especially when it comes to their attacking line with Coutinho, Firmino and Sturridge just a few of the potent attackers that the Merseyside club have on their books.
Team news: After missing Belgium’s friendly in midweek due to illness our key defender Toby Alderweireld is back in training and will start tomorrow’s match. However Erik Lamela didn’t train yesterday due to his involvement with Argentina in midweek, so it’s a possibility that the Argentine may start on the bench due to fatigue, with Son the likely candidate to replace him. Jan Vertonghen is back training with the first team after recovering from his injury but is not ready to be called upon tomorrow, in addition Clinton Njié is also close to recovering from his injury but will also sit out tomorrow’s game. Whilst Nabil Bentaleb and Cameron Carter-Vickers are out injured for the rest of the season. Kieran Trippier and Ben Davies are likely to start at fullback, having not been involved for a couple of weeks.
My predicted line up: (4-2-3-1) Lloris, Trippier, Alderweireld, Wimmer, Davies, Dier, Dembele, Son, Alli, Eriksen, Kane.
My predicted score: 2-1 to Spurs courtesy of a brace from Son.
One to watch: Roberto Firmino, Liverpool’s top scorer in the league this season.

Our under 15’s won in spectacular fashion against Ipswich under 15’s in an an academy showcase match at Portman road this evening, with our under 15’s winning 3-1 on the evening. Spurs took a mere 15 minutes to break the deadlock as Jamie Bowden opened the Lillywhites account with an excellent strike from 25 yards out, his fine effort dipped powerfully over the head over Toby Egan in the Ipswich net, 1-0 to Spurs! Our attacking midfielder Phoenix Patterson almost doubled the lead for the young Spurs side on 31 minutes, Patterson made a fantastic surging run wrong footing an Ipswich defender before playing through Rodel Richards who’s shot was blocked back in to Patterson’s path, and Patterson fired the ball from within the penalty area. The youngsters effort was desperately unlucky as his shot from close range cannoned off the crossbar. However just before the referee blew the half time whistle the tractor boys equalised, Ipswich carved their way through the Tottenham defence and from inside the box Armando Dobra deliciously scooped the ball over the head of Oluwayemi to level for Ipswich, 1-1 at halftime. The standout player of the first half was Phoenix Patterson his incredible ball control and explosive pace caused the Ipswich defence a whole host of problems.
