International youth reports: Tuesday & Wednesday

Tuesday: Three of our under 16’s were involved for England under 16’s in the Montaigu tournament yesterday as the young lions squad defeated Russia under 16’s by one goal to nil. Young midfielder Oliver Skipp played the full match in the centre of the park whilst Nya Kirby got an important assist as he too played the whole game. Whilst Reo Griffthis came on as a substitute late on in the second half, as this trio had a fantastic start in this prestigious tournament and they face USA under 16’s at 6pm tomorrow in the second match of tournament which will be streamed live on YouTube. Wednesday:

Filip Lesniak- Our under 21 midfielder Filip Lesniak played the full 90 for Slovakia Under-21s in the  International Challenge Trophy fixture against Estonia, earlier today. Slovakia ran out 3-0 winners against Estonia, with Filip playing as a holding midfielder throughout the entirety of the match.

Marcus Edwards and Alfie Whiteman- Our two under 18 academy starlets Marcus Edwards and Alfie Whiteman played the entirety of England under 18’s 3-2 victory over Austria this evening. And it was young Marcus Edwards who starred in this encounter with the Austrian under 18’s side as the 17 year old  Tottenham wonderkid scored a brace in what was clearly a fantastic moment for the young Londoner, as the attacking midfielder continues his fantastic goal scoring run of recent on to the international stage. It’s been a fantastic start for our youngsters as they represent their respective countries at youth level. I shall also report on tomorrow’s academy starlets involved in international matches, as Harry Winks, Nathan Oduwa, Joshua Onomah, Kyle Walker Peters,  Charlie Owens, Samuel Shashoua, Jaden Brown and Japhet Tanganga all look to be involved in tomorrow’s matches.
