There was one performance that really stood out during Sunday’s North London Derby. The defensive brilliance of Belgian centre half Jan Vertonghen, won the plaudits of many pundits and ex footballers alike. Vertonghen, who was subsequently awarded man of the match, has been one of Pochettino’s best players during Spurs’ phenomenal season. It was quite fitting that on his 200th appearance for the Lillywhites that Vertonghen put in a sensational performance. Now in the peak of his career, having recently turned 30 Vertonghen along with his compatriot Toby Alderweireld have formed the leagues best centre back partnership. The defensive stalwart was incredibly efficient during Sunday’s north London derby he didn’t give the Arsenal forwards a sniff of a chance, it was a defensive performance to savour. However, it was also an impressive attacking performance from the former Ajax man, Vertonghen is renowned for his surging forward runs from the back, and the Belgium international was proactive in front of goal, testing Cech on two occasions. Vertonghen’s game is best crunched down in numbers, which is perfectly explained in the below tweet from Squakwa, which measures his major contribution to the game.

Vertonghen made some crucial interventions, he was slick and tidy, his overall play was testament to the magnificent season his enjoying with Spurs. Vertonghen likes to get stuck in, making accurate sliding challenges, whilst Alderweireld rarely does so opting instead for Maldiniesque interceptions. Vertonghen’s magnificent performances for Spurs over the course of the past two seasons have shown that he has evolved into one of the worlds finest defenders.

IMG_2682.JPG

For the first time in 21 years Spurs confirmed that there would be no St Totteringham’s day, as Mauricio Pochettino’s side defeated bitter rivals Arsenal 2-0 in an enthralling north London derby at the Lane. In what was the last ever north London Derby at white hart lane, Pochettino’s side outclassed the gunners from start to finish, totally outwitting them. In many ways it was quite surreal for us Spurs supporters, seeing our team far superior in quality to Arsenal for the first time in over two decades. There was an air of confidence ahead of Sunday afternoons encounter, the deafening roar of the terraces and the expectation from the fans had everyone at fever pitch. The opening stages of the game saw a cautious approach from both sides, neither team wanting to leave themselves open to counter attacks, with the stakes so high. But it wasn’t before long that Pochettino’s side started to take control of the game, they produced numerous chances including a sitter that Christian Eriksen ought to have put away from close range, his effort crashing against the cross bar much to the despair of the Spurs faithful. We were testing the ever alert Peter Cech, with Arsenal offering little bar a fine effort from Aaron Ramsey to threaten Hugo Lloris’ goal. The atmosphere was building within our cherished stadium for the second half, we were all waiting for Spurs to strike. The Lillywhites raised the tempo for the second half and it wasn’t long before we broke past Arsenal’s unusually defensive stance, with Dele Alli breaking the deadlock on 55 minutes.

IMG_2683.JPG

After Christian Eriksen’s good run inside the penalty area the Dane saw his deflected effort go between a cluster of Arsenal players, and who else was there but Dele Alli to poach the ball home, to send the Lane into scenes of delirium. It was a mere three minutes later when Spurs doubled their advantage in thrilling circumstances, Harry Kane was brought to the floor in what was a stone wall penalty, our talisman stepped up as composed as ever to tuck a delightful penalty into the inside corner of the net, leaving Cech rooted to his spot. Our second of the game had well and truly flattened Wenger’s already depleted side, we dominated for the remainder of the game forcing some phenomenal saves out of Cech. The scenes of jubilation in the home end was really special with many supporters staying beyond the end of the game to continue singing in appreciation to their brilliant team. Pochettino’s post match quote sums up the brilliance of this team: I said at half-time to keep going. We changed a little our positions in offensive situations, we tried to find better positions and better solutions to create the chances. In the end it was a fantastic performance and we deserved the victory.”

IMG_2681.JPG

It was yet another breathtaking performance, which despite the lack of offensive threat posed by Arsenal, was won by the defence. The sheer magnificence of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld saw every slight bit of danger snuffed out, Vertonghen was my man of the match and I shall have an article on his performance published by Tuesday evening. Harry Kane lead the line with aplomb, it was a battling and ultimately rewarding performance from Kane. Our side oozed in creativity with Eriksen and Son, but it was also a tenacious performance. Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama’s presence in the centre of the park was immense, it truly was a game to saviour. Chelsea’s results are out of our hands they still lead by four points at the top, and will likely be crowned champions by the end of the month, but what’s important to our side is to play every game with the same tempo, the same hunger and style. We’ve got four massive games left, we’re on an incredible run and under Pochettino we’re quite frankly over achieving, Sunday’s game was testament to the exceptional season Spurs are having. COYS!

Today is the day most Spurs fans have been waiting for since the fixture list was drawn up back in June. Today is the day we face our bitter rivals Arsenal in the north London Derby, in what will be our last ever north London Derby at our cherished white hart lane. With the title race hotting up between ourselves and Chelsea, the excitement and anticipation ahead of today’s game is at fever pitch. Regardless of what the score is between table toppers Chelsea and Everton earlier on, the focus of Pochettino’s side, as well as the many Spurs supporters will be solely on defeating the Gunners. I could write a long preview, waxing lyrical about our outstanding achievements this season, our 15 game winning streak at the Lane, our 14 point lead over Arsenal. The achievements go on and on as the season draws to a dramatic close, but I don’t need to go on about Spurs’ exceptional season, for it boils down to games like this. Season defining games which get no bigger than those against your biggest and most historic rivals, the legend that have braced the turf of the Lane have all done battle with the gunners, the Danny Blanchflower’s, the Gascoigne’s and the Bale’s have created memories that will span a life time, now its Pochettino’s sides chance to give our fans that special, special memory a victory over Arsenal in our penultimate game at the Lane, COYS!

Team news: Harry Winks and Erik Lamela remain sidelined through injury, whilst Danny Rose who continues to recover from his injury and Mousa Dembele who picked up an ankle injury in midweek are injury doubts ahead of today’s game. Arsene Wenger’s side are expected to lineup in the 3-4-2-1 formation, and I reckon their biggest danger will come from Sanchez and the creativity of Ozil, whilst the pace of Bellerin could prove to be a problem down the right.

My predicted lineup: (3-4-2-1) Lloris, Dier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Walker, Eriksen, Wanyama, Davies, Son, Alli, Kane.

My score prediction: 3-1 to Spurs courtesy of goals from Alli, Kane and Dier!

One to watch: The danger man Alexis Sanchez, with 19 league goals and 9 assists the world class Chile international is capable of producing the spectacular, we’ll have to be at our best today to ensure he doesn’t!

Some thoughts on Spurs’ important 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace in midweek:

Some thoughts on Spurs’ important 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace in midweek:

IMG_2668.JPG

There was little time for the Spurs players and supporters to dwell on their dramatic elimination from the FA cup, in last Saturday’s semi-final defeat at the hands of Chelsea, at Wembley stadium. Mauricio Pochettino’s side knew they had to bounce back in midweek with the visit of Crystal Palace providing Spurs with the opportunity to close the gap at the top to four points, following Chelsea’s win over Southampton the previous night. We went into Wednesday’s night match knowing how very tough 3 points would be to achieve at Selhurst park, with Sam Allardyce’s inform eagles showing their dramatic improvement under Allardyce, with notable wins over Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool recorded in the past couple of weeks. The tough task ahead of us became clear to see in the opening stages of the game, Palace were dangerous with the speedy Wilfred Zaha constantly bothering our fullbacks. Their well structured and ultra defensive style of play, was stifling Pochettino’s sides creative play. And that consistently solid style of play would continue throughout the game, few clear cut chances and little to shout about. In fact that was the pattern for the majority of the game, apart from when Dele Alli ghosted in at the near post before putting the ball narrowly wide of Hennessy’s post. Palace began to tire in the final quarter of the game, but Pochettino’s resilient side still pushed to create that bit of magic that would put them ahead. And that bit of magic duly arrived on 78 minutes when out of nothing, Christian Eriksen decided to an unleash a thumping effort from long range, his effort dipping as it flew into the bottom corner of Hennessy’s net, scenes of elation followed in the away end!

The disappointment of the weekend put long behind for the Spurs players, as they fought hard to secure an invaluable three points in south London. It may not have been the most aesthetically pleasing game to watch for the neutral, but Pochettino’s side dug deep to grind out a precious victory that keeps them right in the title race, I shall be publishing a piece on the profound influence that man of the match Christian Eriksen has had on our season, in the coming days. Roll on Sunday, COYS!

IMG_2637.JPG

A seventh straight league win for Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs occurred on Saturday lunchtime, as Spurs’s recorded a 4-0 demolition over Bournemouth at the Lane. Yet another sparkling attacking performance ensued, as Pochettino’s young Spurs side outclassed the cherries with a stunning performance, as Spurs continue to go hot on the heels of league leaders Chelsea. Spurs started the game with a real desire and their fast and attacking style of play began to create some early openings for Pochettino’s side as they went on the attack. A quick fire effort from Moussa Dembele on 13 minutes testing the alert Artur Boruc, who was forced into making a good save down at his far post. Spurs’ early dominance of the game was rewarded three minutes later when Mousa Dembele put Spurs ahead with his first goal of the season. The goal came about after Christian Eriksen whipped the resulting corner in to the box, as it came out to the unmarked Dembele who powered an effort past Boruc with his right foot, that’s the first time Dembele’s scored a league goal with his right foot, 1-0 to Spurs! Spurs’ early goal set the tone for a game where they’d run Eddie Howe’s side ragged, the Lillywhites fierce attacking play caught Bournemouth out again minutes later when the inform Son Heung-Min doubled Spurs’ advantage. After Kane flicked a sumptuous pass on to Son who surged into the box, before firing a low effort underneath Boruc and into the back of the net, 2-0 to Spurs!

IMG_2638.JPG

Spurs’ breathtaking style of play which saw them constantly change shape as players filled in for one another, was beginning to suggest that the game was a foregone conclusion. Spurs continued to create a flurry of chances including a notable effort from Eriksen on 36 minutes. Eriksen had a go from seven yards out after receiving an excellent first time pass from Kane, but Eriksen’s lashed effort was acrobatically thwarted away by Boruc. The interval couldn’t have come any quicker for the visitors, as Spurs continued to dominate proceedings, 2-0 up at the break. Spurs started the second half with exactly the same intent as they had the first, and it didn’t take long until Pochettino’s side extended their advantage, as Harry Kane netted Spurs’ third of the afternoon three minutes in. After Dele Alli passed to Kane in the box, the England striker showed good footwork to get past Francis before placing the ball inside the far post to effectively end the game. Bournemouth goalkeeper Artur Boruc was kept busy in the remaining minutes as he made a string of fine saves to deny the formidable attacking trio of Son, Kane and Eriksen from increasing Spurs’ lead. However, Boruc was helpless to deny our fourth of the game which came deep in stoppage time. Ben Davies’ cross from the left was received by Vincent Janssen whose first time effort was blocked on the line, but the Dutchman buried home the rebound, only his second goal from open play for Spurs, a massive confidence booster for a classy player. The final scores Spurs 4-0 Bournemouth, that sparkling attacking football that has been present throughout our season is showing no signs of depreciating, Pochettino’s side ripped apart a fine Bournemouth outfit with a truly sensational attacking display, Spurs fans will be watching tomorrows match between Man united and Chelsea with great interest! COYS

My man of the match: The masterful Mousa Dembele who put in one of his best performances of the season today. Dembele totally bossed the midfield with his dominant display overwhelming the cherries midfield, Dembele played with an attacking freedom as he glided past the opposition players, his goal was his first of the season.

Here comes the Son: Son continues to improve in his second season at the Lillywhites

While at times inconsistent, Son Heung-Mins second season in English football with Spurs has seen the South Korean winger significantly improve, and he has gone onto become one of Spurs’ most effective players under manager Mauricio Pochettino. Following a first season in north London which was stop, start due to injury, his form and confidence suffered and his big money move from Bayer Leverkusen had some fans questioning his worth come the end of last season. Whilst not the most consistent player last term, few can argue the massive contribution that his made to our side during the current campaign, his become much more consistent as he continues to adapt to the premier league. The 24 year old has chipped in with an impressive 18 goals in all competitions, as well as a handful of assists. Son’s a player who buys in to Pochettino’s footballing philosophy, he has a great work ethic, he plays the game with a smile on his face, is hungry to score goals and it’s that, that has given him a great affinity with the clubs supporters. The winger has been played on both flanks as well as upfront, whilst it’s unquestionable that his best position is on the right wing, his versatility has come in very useful for Pochettino, when injuries have prevented Kane from playing, Son has often been the preferred choice up front in Kane’s absence. Son ended last season on 8 goals in all competitions, after starting the season the so well with 3 goals in 3 games, Son’s season took a dip in form as he struggled with injuries. And when he did recover, he was often featuring only from the bench, the Spurs fans had only been treated to flashes of Son’s brilliance.

IMG_2546

In contrast to last season Son has grown up as a player in the worlds strongest league, he has demonstrated his great goal scoring ability much more regularly, his statistics being very impressive for someone who plays out wide. His bursting runs down the flanks and his eagerness to cut in and have a shot from long range, were key attributes that our side was missing prior to his arrival. Son’s a great athlete, a player whose very fast over 10 metres, yes he can frustrate just like Erik Lamela can do as well, but this season is beginning to bring out the very best in this immensely talented forward. Pochettino has shown real faith in him as a player throughout the past two seasons, he has stuck by him even when he reportedly wanted to leave Spurs last summer, and Son’s repaying him with such great goal scoring form. At 24 years of age, I still think there’s a lot more to come from this South Korean mega star. I have also notice many of his fellow country men and women at the ground with his name on their backs. This can only be positive for our international standing and growing reputation. COYS!

Spurs 4-0 Watford: (match report)

Spurs 4-0 Watford: (match report)

IMG_2619.JPG

It was another wonderful day at White Hart Lane as Spurs defeated Watford 4-0 in glorious fashion this afternoon. Mauricio Pochettino’s side saw out a tough opening 20 minutes, before dismantling the Hornets with a splendid performance, as they continue to keep the pressure on league leaders Chelsea. Fresh from their dramatic 3-1 victory over Swansea in midweek, Spurs were up against a well structured Watford side who were counter attacking our high pressing side. Nevertheless, we started the game brightly attacking with intent, and we came close just under ten minutes in, when Janssen received a pass on the edge of the penalty area. Before shrugging past Cathcart as he tried to place an effort from close range, which was met well by former Spurs goalkeeper Gomes as he pulled off a fine save to his left. Janssen came close to scoring again ten minutes later, after Trippier put in an inviting volleyed cross, which Janssen met at the far post, unfortunately for him it came of his chest before hitting the crossbar. Spurs’ dominance of the game was beginning to show, Watfords early bright spell began to flatten as Spurs took the lead on 33 minutes through the inform Dele Alli. After receiving a pass from Son, Alli curled the ball into the top right hand corner of the net, from close to 30 yards out as he left Gomes rooted to the spot, a truly sensational goal! Spurs were even hungrier to score after netting their first, and their high intensity style of play continued, just six minutes later the Lillywhites doubled their advantage. After Son’s shot was blocked, the ball came out to Dier on the edge of the box, the midfielder drove a low effort which flew into the back of the net, 2-0 to Spurs.

IMG_2621.JPG

The crowd were elated as we pushed for our third of the game shortly before the interval, a player who had been forever present in the game had been Son, and he was to get our third of the game on the stroke of half time. Son loves a long shot, and he decided to have a go from 28 yards out, his low curling effort flew in between the left post, leaving Gomes with no chance, 3-0 to Spurs at the interval. After an ideal first half, Spurs were not content with their three goal advantage as they began the second half, Pochettino’s side were simply overwhelming Watford and they soon added to their advantage through Son. After being found at the far post by Trippier who whipped in a brilliant cross, son hit the ball first time, his volleyed finish hitting the back of the net, 4-0 to Spurs! We were in cruise control for the remainder of the game, we had well and truly deflated the visitors and we were desperately unlucky not to win by an even greater margin. Son went close to getting his first premier league hat-trick late on, after he flashed an effort narrowly past the post, whilst the recovered Harry Kane almost put the icing on the cake with a spectacular long range free kick in stoppage time, his effort crashing against the crossbar. The final score Spurs 4-0 Watford, another superb performance from our team, we were treated to a superb display as our great form continues, we’re certainly not letting Chelsea run away with the league title! COYS

Post match notes: Another brilliant team performance ensured that we recorded our 11th straight league win. There were some outstanding individual performances that caught my eye today and none more so than Son. The South Korean international has been in great form this season and after today’s game he is on 18 goals for the season, Son’s a great athlete and his hard working display had a profound impact on the game. Son was constantly looking for routes through to goal, his eagerness to shoot resulted in him scoring two very good goals, Son also set up Alli’s opener. On only his third league start of the season right back Kieran Trippier was so sharp, he put in a very solid defensive performance. But it was Trippier’s crossing which was his greatest asset, his expertly timed deliveries and anticipation created a whole host of chances, he done a very good job to assist Son for his second of the game. Our next game is against Bournemouth, next Saturday lunchtime. In other news, our under 18’s ran out 3-2 winners against Norwich this morning at Hotspur Way, a hat-trick from Reo Griffiths ensuring all three points for McDermott’s side.
My man of the match: The superb Son Heung-Min, the South Koreans fine goalscoring run continues, Son was excellent today his two goals and assist ensuring a vital three points.

Spurs (4-2-3-1): Lloris (c), Trippier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies, Dier, Dembele (Sissoko 74), Son (Onomah 88), Dele, Eriksen, Janssen (Kane 61). Substitutes (not used): Pau Lopez, Walker, Wimmer, Nkoudou.

Watford (3-4-3): Gomes (c), Mariappa, Cathcart, Holebas, Janmaat, Cleverley, Doucouré (Zuniga 59), Amrabat (Deeney 70), Niang, Okaka (Kabasele 84), Success. Substitutes (not used): Pantilimon, Capoue, Mason, Eleftheriou.

Goals: Spurs – Dele 32, Dier 39, Son 44, 55.

Yellow cards: Watford – Doucoure.

Fresh from their dramatic 3-1 victory over Swansea in midweek Spurs return to action tomorrow afternoon as they host Watford at the Lane. Mauricio Pochettino’s side could go within four points of leaders Chelsea with a win in Saturday lunchtimes game, the blues face Bourenmouth on Saturday evening. Our side is flying at the moment in spite of a string of injuries, but with Harry Kane poised to return tomorrow and with Watford currently enduring a defensive headache there could be no better time to face the hornets then on Saturday. Walter Mazarri’s Watford side currently sit in 10th position, and the Hertfordshire based club have been an inconsistent but well structured side throughout the season, their defensive style of play helping them to record notable victories over both Arsenal and Man United. Whilst Watford are a good side who have cemented their place in the premier league for a second consecutive season, I feel that their numerous defensive injuries. Which includes key players Younes Kaboul, Sebastian Prodl as well as the suspended Miguel Britos. With their tenacious defence left vulnerable through injury, I’m anticipating our side to be ruthless in tomorrows match and I’m confident our attacking prowess will overwhelm the Hornets and I’m predicting a big win, similar to the reverse fixture back in December, where we ran out 4-1 winners. Watford are a solid outfit and are capable of providing a shock with attacking players such as Troy Deeney and M’Baye Niang at their disposal. However, if our side plays with the same intensity as they did on Wednesday night then I’m confident that we’ll ease past Watford if we can get an early goal. After all the Lane is our fortress. COYS

Team news: In what comes as a welcome surprise, striker Harry Kane will likely be involved tomorrow following his swift recovery from injury, though I still think he’ll start from the bench. Meanwhile, Spurs have a bit of a goalkeeping headache, with Lloris a doubt through illness and deputy Michel Vorm ruled out through a knee injury picked up in midweek, there could be a first start for talented on loan goalkeeper Pau
Lopez, the talented Spanish keeper who is on loan from Espanyol, has made a couple of appearances for our under 23’s. I have been very impressed with what I’ve seen from him at youth level, and manager Mauricio Pochettino’s is in no doubt as to his capabilities: “Pau is ready to play if Hugo is not ready. Why would it be a gamble to play him?” However, Danny Rose, Erik Lamela and Harry Winks remain out through injury, whilst midfielder Victor Wanyama will be assessed ahead of Saturday’s game.

My predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Lopez, Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies, Dembele, Wanyama, Son, Alli, Eriksen, Janssen.

My predicted score: 4-0 to Spurs courtesy of goals from Dele Alli x2, Son and Janssen.

One to watch: M’Baye Niang, Watfords on loan French winger who has electric pace and great skill as well as an eye for goal.

“Simply superb!” My thoughts on Spurs’ dramatic 3-1 victory over Swansea:

With just two minutes remaining of normal time Spurs found themselves a goal down to 17th place Swansea City at the Welsh clubs Liberty stadium, Mauricio Pochettino’s side seemed destined for a first loss in eight league matches. Six minutes later there were scenes of pandemonium in the away end, Spurs were 3-1 up! Courtesy of a breathtaking three goal blitz with three wonderfully worked goals from Dele Alli, Son and Christian Eriksen securing a most dramatic three points for our title challenging side, we were simply superb! The sheer determination and fighting spirit that Pochettino’s side showed was nothing new, but the power that his injury stricken team showed to turn over a well structured Swansea side, in the space of just five minutes was testament to the outstanding team that they are. Whilst we were also attacking well on Wednesday nights game, we were sharp and our intensity was overwhelming the swans. Although no Spurs fan or pundit alike could have predicted Spurs’ late goal flurry. Each one of our late goals was wonderfully crafted and our players composure in front of goal was nothing short of outstanding, all that tough work on the training ground had given them the stamina yet again to achieve the near impossible. Whilst Wednesday’s win was down to a great team performance, there was one player who changed the game. Christian Eriksen’ creativity carved through the Swansea defence, the Danish international created a string of openings from within the midfield as he sprayed a series of sumptuous passes which eventually broke down Swansea’s tough defence.

After his deflected low pass found its way to Alli who tapped home for our equaliser, Eriksen again went on to make an important contribution to our second minutes later, before going on to secure all three points with a smart finish. It wasn’t just the creativity of Eriksen that won us the game, Dele Alli and Son were equally as effective and they stepped up yet again in place of talisman Harry Kane. Whilst the introduction of Vincent Janssen also helped change the game, the Dutchman’s impressive hold up play and assist for Son’s goal showed his great potential at Spurs as he begin to adapt to the premier league. We showed how good a side we really are, despite the numerous absentees which included Harry Kane and Victor Wanyama, Pochettino’s side are refusing to let Chelsea run away with the league title. Wednesday may just have been one of the most memorable games of the season and we return to action tomorrow afternoon when we face Watford at the Lane, this really is a special time for Spurs fans! COYS

Additional notes: I noticed that development squad midfielder Filip Lesniak was training with Wanyama ahead of Wednesday’s game, the young Slovakian defensive midfielder likely travelled due to our current lack of defensive midfielders following injuries to Winks and Wanyama.

Following Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at the weekend, our 2-0 victory over Burnley at turf moor last Saturday has resulted in Chelsea’s lead at the top beeing cut to seven points. With many Spurs fans daring to dream of their team pulling off the impossible, Mauricio Pochettino’s side take on Swansea this evening knowing that they could end the night just four points behind the league leaders, if other results were to go their way. The determination and sheer might that Spurs showed on Saturday was highly commendable, despite suffering injuries to midfielders Victor Wanyama and Harry Winks, Spurs outclassed a Burnley side with one of the premier leagues best home records. With the help of a tactical master class from manager, Mauricio Pochettino and goals from Eric Dier and and Son. Tonight’s game presents a similar challenge as we visit South Wales to face a Swansea side currently embroiled in a relegation battle. However, since taking over at Swansea manager Paul Clement’s side are yet to taste defeat at the liberty stadium under Clement, and their rapid improvement under Clement is a completely different side to the one we thrashed 5-0 at the Lane back in December.

The creativity will come through former Spurs man Gylfi Sigurðsson, whilst target man Fernando Llorente will be a handful if fit. Whilst it’s imperative that we win tonight, the difficulty of this game will provide a tough test for our side with stakes so high for both teams.

Team news: Following a scan, Spurs announced in midweek that young midfielder Harry Winks will remain out for the rest of the season, Winks joins Harry Kane, Danny Rose and Erik Lamela in tonight’s absentees. Meanwhile, midfielder Victor Wanyama is an injury doubt following a back injury he sustained in Saturday’s victory.

My predicted lineup: (3-4-2-1) Lloris, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Dier, Davies, Wanyama, Dembele, Walker, Eriksen, Alli, Son.

My score prediction: 3-1 to Spurs courtesy of goals from Toby Alderweireld, Christian Eriksen and Son.

One to watch: Former Spurs man Gylfi Sigurðsson will provide the swans biggest goal threat, the Iceland international has got eight league goals and 11 assists this season.
