Spurs versus Stoke City: (match preview)
Spurs’ 3-0 win over APOEL in midweek may have been no more than a dead rubber, but the win and performance alike will give Pochettino’s side confidence going into their league match with Stoke on Saturday afternoon. Without a win in their last 6 league games, the importance of ending that record tomorrow is huge, with the gap between us and the top four widening. Mark Hughes’ team are an interesting one, they play some good attacking football and have some brilliant players. But there form has been erratic this campaign and have only managed four league victories. The creativity will come from Swiss international Shaqiri, whilst the height of former Spurs man Peter Crouch and Choupo-Moting up top, will be a handful for our defence. Really looking forward to this game! COYS
My predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Lloris(c), Trippier, Dier, Vertonghen, Davies, Dembele, Eriksen, Son, Dele, Kane.
Subs from: Vorm, Aurier, Foyth, Winks, Sissoko, Nkoudou, Llorente.
Absent: Wanyama, Alderweireld, Sanchez.
My score prediction: 4-1 to Spurs!
One to watch: Stokes creative diamond Xherdan Shaqiri has been in fine form this season, being directly involved in 9 of the potters premier league goals.
