Checkatrade trophy group announced for Wayne Burnett’s side:
The final stage of the Checkatrade trophy draw was announced this afternoon with Spurs’ development squad being drawn in group F of the southern section alongside League one club AFC Wimbledon, and league two clubs Luton town and Barnet. The tournament which begins next month will see Wayne Burnett’s side play all three group games away from home against the EFL clubs. It’s an intriguing draw which will see us play in two london derbies, as well as a trip to Kenilworth road to face Luton town. This tournament is a massive challenge for our youngsters and it will be a fantastic opportunity for them, whilst it would be a massive achievement to progress from their group, we’ve got the quality to achieve it and head coach Wayne Burnett who won the competition as a player for Grimsby, will know how important a competition it is for the young Lilywhites. In other news a Spurs team beat National league side Leyton Orient 4-0 this afternoon in a behind closed doors friendly at Hotspur way, the goals were scored by Walker-Peters, Nkoudou, Jaden Brown and Will Miller.
