Spurs return to action tomorrow afternoon following a two week international break, as Maurico Pochettino’s side face Stoke City at the Bet365 stadium. After picking up five points from three league games so far this season, the lillywhites will be eager to win this encounter against the potters with the lads having one of their best performances against Mark Hughes ‘s side last season. Following the arrival of three players on transfer deadline day, we now have the depth that we need to challenge for the league title for a second consecutive season. The potters haven’t started the season well having picked up only one point from their first three league matches, yet their talented attack including new signing Wilfried Bony will make them a danger throughout. Despite our poor form against Stoke in recent seasons I still believe that our lads will defeat them tomorrow and taking an early lead could prove imperative. One of stokes most important players Switzerland international Xherdan Shaqiri is ruled out off tomorrow’s game through injury.
Team news: Hugo Lloris has recovered well from his injury and will lead us out tomorrow. However, Danny Rose is ruled out due to a hamstring injury, Ben Davies will likely deputise. Meanwhile, Mousa Dembele is serving his sixth and final suspension of his six game ban tomorrow.
My predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Lloris, Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Davies, Wanyama, Dier, Son, Alli, Eriksen, Kane.
My predicted scoreline: 2-0 spurs courtesy of goals from Eriksen and Kane.
One to watch: Stokes new signing, striker Wilfried Bony.
