This afternoon our under 23 side defeated Reading 4-1 at Hogwood park as they got their first victory of the Premier league 2 season, in a game in which Ugo Ehiogu’s side were highly impressive throughout. The young Lillywhites took the lead shortly after the half hour mark through 17 year old Marcus Edwards, after the forward received a pass from Oduwa on the edge of the box before turning away from his marker and firing an accurate shot into the top corner of the net. Shortly after the interval Edwards scored his second of the game, after the skillful forward cut in from the right before hitting the back of the net from 20 yards with a fine left footed strike. A minute later we got our third goal of the game through attacking midfielder Will Miller who rifled the ball past Jonathan Bond and into the top corner with a first time strike, after the forward was found by the resulting cross from Oduwa. Ehiogu’s side put the game out of reach from the royals a couple of minutes later as striker Shayon Harrison got our fourth of the game after the alert forward latched on Dominic Hyam’s pass to the goalkeeper before tackling Bond and putting the ball into the back of the net. Reading pulled a goal back later on through Andy Rinomhota but it wasn’t to matter as Ugo Ehiogu’s side won 4-1 in what was an extremely impressive performance from the under 23’s. Up next for Spurs under 23’s is an away match against Derby County, next Friday.
