Tomorrow we kick off our season against Everton at Goodison park with players and fans alike so very eager for the season to begin after such a long break from competitive football for the Lillywhites. When the fixtures were announced in June I must admit I wasn’t chuffed that we’d got Everton away as our opener, taking into consideration the fact that we’d only beaten Everton at Goodison park only twice in our last ten visits. However, with a new manager in place (Ronald Koeman) and a somewhat stretched squad, I really fancy our chances tomorrow. I strongly believe that we are stronger, more mature and hungrier than ever to win each game, tomorrow will no doubt be tough and you never know what side will turn up on the opening day but with our depth and talent I am extremely hopeful for tomorrow’s encounter at Goodison park. Interestingly Ronald Koeman said this week: that Everton are “only 70% fit” which will come as great as great news to Pochettino.
New signing Ashley Williams won’t be ready to face us in time, whilst the toffees star man Romelu Lukaku is a doubt as too is their right back Seamus Coleman. Meanwhile, Mousa Dembele is our only absentee as the Belgian is suspended with new signing Victor Wanyama expected to replace him. I think both sides will be desperate not to lose, but with our stamina and potent attack I think we will run out one nil winners, and start the season in style. COYS⚽️
My predicted line up: (4-2-3-1) Lloris, Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose, Wanyama, Dier, Lamela, Alli, Eriksen and Kane.
My score prediction: 1-0 to Spurs courtesy of a goal from Victor Wanyama.
One too watch: Everton’s pacy and skill full winger who has an eye for goal, Kevin Mirallas.
