Spurs have announced within the past hour that 21 year old left back Connor Ogilvie has joined league one side Gillingham on a six month loan, this comes after just signing a new contract with Spurs until 2019. Ogilvie has spent large parts of the last two seasons on loan with league two club Stevenage in between playing for our development squad, his consistent performances have clearly caught the eye of clubs further up the footballing pyramid and I have no doubt that he will flourish in the third tier of English football. The academy player who can also operate at centre back, is a player who I have rated highly for some time, he turns 22 next February and is yet to appear for our senior side, but this loan at Gillingham will provide the youngster with an invaluable step in his career. I wish Connor a very successful loan with the Gills , and I look forward to monitoring his progress.

Two of our loanees played their final games as a loanee at their respective clubs on Saturday afternoon, in the final day of the League 2 season, Shayon Harrison (19) and Connor Ogilvie (21) were both loaned out during the recent winter transfer window.

Shayon Harrison: The 19 year old striker started up front for the glovers in their 2-0 defeat to Colchester. It was a rare start for the talented forward, Harrison completed 68 minutes of Saturday’s game before being substituted. Although he didn’t complete many full matches for Yeovil since arriving, Harrison will have gained vital experience that will help in his development, and chances of making our first team in the coming seasons. Harrison scored one goal in his short time at the Somerset club.

Connor Ogilvie: Ogilvie started at left back for Stevenage in their 3-0 home defeat to Accrington Stanley at the Lamex stadium. Stevenage needed a win in their final game if they were to reach the play offs in what has been a very good season for the Hertfordshire club. On his second loan spell with the boro, Ogilvie once again cemented his place in the side and made a really good defensive impact on the team. Ogilvie completed the entirety of the match. Meanwhile fellow Spurs loanee Ryan Loft was not included in the match day squad.

Will Miller: Will Miller scored a dramatic equaliser in the 93rd minute of stoppage time for Burton Albion earlier today as the Brewers drew 1-1 with Wolves. Will Miller came on as a 77th minute substitute for the championship and the talented forward is already showing his talent at Burton.

Luke McGee and Nathan Oduwa: 21 year old goalkeeper Luke McGee played the entirety of Peterborough’s 2-2 Β draw with Port Vale this afternoon. Meanwhile winger Nathan Oduwa was an unused substitute for the posh.

Filip Lesniak: Filip Lesniak wasn’t included in the squad for Czech side Slovan Liberec’s 2-1 defeat to Viktoria Plzen this evening.

It is understood that our defender Federico Fazio has joined Serie A side Roma on a season long loan with an option to sign the Argentine for Β£3.5 million. Roma’s official English Twitter account posted pictures of Fazio arriving at Rome’s Fiumicino airport last night as he held a Roma scarf in front of photographers. I would assume an official announcement from both clubs will be made official later today, it became apparent early on in Fazio’s time at Spurs that he wasn’t able to adapt well to the English league. The former Sevilla captain was ultimately in the wrong league at the wrong time however, I believe he is a class footballer and will showcase he’s defensive qualities at Roma over the coming season. I wish Federico the all very best at his new club.

Freeman who is expected to be announced as a first year scholar for Spurs this season, has already started all three of Newcastle’s games in the prestigious youth tournament and has helped them to progress to the semifinals of the globe section of the tournament where they will meet Zambian side Lusaka tomorrow afternoon in the semifinal. Kristian Ross who has watched all three of the magpies games in the tournament had high praise for Freeman after some impressive performances for the toon army: “Seemed assured in goal vs County Fermanagh. Peppered yesterday against Right to Dream. But the lad is a very good shot stopper.”
