Spurs versus Manchester City: (match preview)

Spurs play their final game of their USA tour later tonight as Pochettino’s side go head to head with familiar opposition, Premier league side Manchester City. The game which takes place in Nashville Tennessee (kick off-11pm) will bring to an end a tour for Spurs, which has seen them record a 4-2 victory over PSG and a 3-2 loss to Roma. It’s our last game which will excite Spurs fans more than previous two, with this evenings game seeing Spurs go up against Pep Guardiola’s Man City side who have been very active in this summers transfer window, with the addition of former Spurs man Kyle Walker one of many new players to make the move to Manchester. Tonight’s match will provide Pochettino’s team with a great pre season test against a side who they’ll be coming up against in the league campaign over the next season. After the undeserved defeat to Roma in the last game, Pochettino will likely rotate his side for tonight’s match, and there’s a couple of players who I’m really hoping to see on the team sheet. Academy player Anthony Georgiou made a really positive debut against Roma in midweek, the energy and persistence he showed down the left wing should hopefully warrant him with a start against Man City. Midfielder Tashan Oakley-Boothe who has already featured as a substitute in both previous Spurs games has also impressed, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him start. Whilst this game will provide a real challenge for Pochettino’s young side, I’m sure his players will be relishing the opportunity to go up against one of the most talented sides in Europe. COYS

My predicted lineup: (3-4-2-1) Whiteman, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Wimmer, Trippier, Dembele, Oakley-Boothe, Davies, Eriksen, Alli, Kane.

My score prediction: 2-2 courtesy of goals from Kane and Alli.

One to watch: Kyle Walker was a Spurs player less than a month ago, the talented right back needs no introducing ahead of us facing him just a few weeks after his £50 million pound transfer to the sky blues.
