Spurs’ PL2 (under23) fixtures announced for 2017/18 season:
The fixtures for the new PL2 season have been announced, with Wayne Burnett’s under 23 side finding out their fixtures for the coming campaign. Spurs start their season with a long trek up to the north east to face Sunderland in County Durham on Friday 11th August. There are 22 games in total for Spurs who will also be competing in this seasons Checkatrade trophy. Some interesting fixtures include a visit to face Arsenal at the Emirates stadium on the 12th March, a visit to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on the 29th January and a home match against the same club at the Lamex stadium on the 25th August. Our home games will be played at both Stevenage’s Lamex stadium and our Hotspur way training ground, whilst there will be no matches held at our temporary home Wembley stadium for the coming campaign. I will be trying my utmost to report on all Spurs matches, though it can prove very tricky with all games being subject to change at fairly short notice. It’s an exciting season for Burnett’s side, and I’m very hopeful ahead of what will prove to be a fascinating season for the young lilywhites. The full list of fixtures is published below:

Meanwhile in other related youth news, Burnett’s side travel to Ploufragan in France for the annual European under 21 tournament which begins tomorrow. Spurs will face PSG, EA Guingamp and FC Lorient in their group. The squad which is listed below is the same side that faced Cambridge United last week, with absentees including Nick Tsaroulla, George Marsh, Marcus Edwards and Cy Goddard. Expected captain of the under 21 team Luke Amos had the following words to say about the tournament- “We’ve spoken about it a lot, about what we need to do to win, and that’s the focus. It’s always good to play against different styles and there will be some older players there, players that have played men’s football, so that will be a good chance to test ourselves and pick up new things as well.”
