Our under 18’s fall to a narrow 3-2 defeat against Aston Villa:
Our under 18’s were in action this morning, John McDermott’s side took on Aston Villa at the clubs Bodymoor Heath training ground in a game that ended 3-2 to the home side. It was a top of the table clash in which both sides were eager to win, it was also a relatively young side fielded by McDermott, with 5 under 16’s included in today’s squad. Spurs managed to peg Villa back on two occasions after having fallen behind, but ultimately the talented West Midlands side prevailed with a victory after Pemberton netted what turned out to be Villa’s winner on 69 minutes. Our goals were scored from under 16 Phoenix Patterson who found the net with a massively deflected effort, possibly an own goal (his second of the season) and the prolific Samuel Shashoua who converted from the spot to net his 14th of the domestic campaign. Today’s result leaves Spurs in 3rd position of their merit group, four points of leaders Aston Villa with a game in hand. There’s not much respite for McDermott’s side they return to action on Tuesday with the visit of Everton at the toffees finch farm training ground. COYS
