Spurs under 23’s v Liverpool under 23’s: (match preview)

Venue: The Lamex stadium
Date: Monday 19th September 19:00 pm

Our under 23’s side return to action this evening as they face Liverpool at the Lamex stadium in a PL2 encounter. Ugo Ehiogu’s side will be looking to bounce back from their 3-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last Friday but it will be a difficult task against a talented Liverpool under 23′ side. Tonight’s team news will be interesting as it could give us some indication as to which youngsters will be involved against Gillingham in the league cup on Wednesday night. I reckon Shayon Harrison, Anton Walkes and Kyle Walker-Peters will all be involved in the squad for Wednesdays game. It would be good to see talented under 18 midfielder Tashan Oakley-Boothe feature for the under 23’s again this evening a week after making his debut against Chelsea, Oakley-Boothe was absent from the under 18’s match against Norwich on Saturday. Another talented player who may feature this evening is second year scholar Samuel Shashoua who also made his debut against Chelsea last Friday. It will be another good experience in front of a fairly big crowd at the Lamex stadium as Ehiogu’s talented side get to test themselves against Liverpools talented development squad which includes hot prospects such as Trent Alexander-Arnold and Cameron Brannagan, as well as senior player Danny Ings who may well feature this evening.

My predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Glover, Stylianides, Maghoma, Ogilvie, Georgiou, Owens, Pritchard, Tracey, Shashoua, Goddard, Loft.

One to watch: 24 year old striker Danny Ings, who has been involved in all of Liverpools under 23 games in the PL2 so far this season.
