Spurs v Southampton match preview:
Venue: White Hart Lane
Date: Sunday 8th May 13:30pm
Live coverage: Sky Sports 1 and BBC Radio 5 live
Head2Heads: Spurs2-0, 2-2, Spurs1-0, Spurs3-2, Spurs3-2
Referee: Jonathan Moss
Come mid afternoon tomorrow we’ll hopefully have defeated Southampton and in doing so have secured a remarkable second place finish. However, Mauricio Pochettino’s men will have their work cut out if they are to defeat a tough Southampton side who are vying for a Europa league place, but with our lads fresh and hungry from their intense match with Chelsea last Monday, we as fans can only be confident as our second place club have not lost to the saints in over a decade. As it is potentially the last full attendance match at White Hart Lane the club are urging all to help create a great atmosphere to show appreciation to our players for their exceptional season. Furthermore, the club are also urging fans to wear white and bring Spurs flags. COYS⚽️
Team news: Mousa Dembélé will miss tomorrow’s match after being handed a six game ban for an incident involving Diego Costa at Stamford bridge last Monday. Dele Alli will also miss out as he is also serving a ban whilst Nabil Bentaleb is out injured. Danny Rose and Toby Alderweireld have been passed fit after both were brought off injured last Monday.
My predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Lloris, Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose, Dier, Mason, Lamela, Eriksen, Son, Kane.
My predicted score line: 3-0 to Spurs courtesy of goals from Kane x2 and Eriksen.
One to watch: Southampton’s Senegalese forward Sadio Mané who has scored 10 league goals and got 7 assists in the current campaign.
