Spurs v Borussia Dortmund: (match preview)
Venue: White Hart lane
Date: Thursday 17 March 20:05 pm
Head2Heads: Dortmund 3-0 (From first leg)
Live coverage: BT Sport 1
Preview: Despite Pochettino’s men having a three goal deficit to overturn in this second leg tie at the lane, this European fixture still has all the ingredients of a classic European night under the White Hart lane lights. However, the lads will no doubt face a mammoth task as they prepare to face evidently one of the greatest clubs in Europe. Borussia Dortmund showcased their exquisite skill and admirable technical ability in last Thursday’s three nil thrashing in Germany, where a second string Spurs side were soundly defeated by the Bundesliga giants. It is a great puzzle as to how Pochettino will line up the Lillywhites in tomorrow’s encounter as Spurs look to salvage something from this tie and I’m sure Pochettino does too, regardless of his premier league focus. Whatever the squad that Pochettino chooses, the tactical approach should remain the same. The lads must get two early goals and ultimately they must stay strong at the back as they look for the third, an away goal for Dortmund would effectively end the tie.
Of course our chances of progressing are as slim as can be however, I believe that with an electric atmosphere and a spirit full and strong lineup, we can put up a great fight against a Dortmund side that will have a few key players rested. We as fans must remain hopeful, although Bourenmouth on Sunday is our rightful priority! COYS⚽️
Team news: Christian Eriksen and Moussa Dembele will be assessed prior to our meeting with Dortmund at the lane. Clinton Njié and Jan Vertonghen remain sidelined through injury whilst, Ben Davies and Kieran Trippier are expected to return at fullback. Heung-Min Son is poised to replace Erik Lamela on the right wing however, it remains a mystery as to whether Harry Kane will start up front. Dele Alli is available again after suspension.
My predicted team: (4-2-3-1) Lloris, Trippier, Alderweireld, Davies, Mason, Dier, Son, Alli, Eriksen, Kane.
My predicted score : 3-0 Spurs with goals from Alderweireld, Eriksen and Kane.
One to watch: Dortmunds powerful and creative Armenian forward, Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
