Our under 21’s drew one all at St Mary’s against a fine Southampton side earlier this evening. As Ugo Ehiogu bolstered our starting 11 with the inclusion of Nabil Bentaleb,Joshua Onomah,Luke McGee and Harry Winks. However a draw was the fair result with both sides having a fair share of opportunities, we impressed on several fronts, our defence looked far more comfortable than in recent outings as well as a cluster of impressive individual performances,so their are plenty of positives to take from this evenings draw. Southamptons young starlet Jake Hesketh scored a most glorious of goals, as he curled a finessed effort past a helpless Luke McGee to give the saints the lead. However our persistence and midfield prowess shone through as we equalised in the 76th minute courtesy of a fine run from Sonupe who’s cross rebounded out to Nabil Bentaleb who fired home from inside the box, 1-1! The Algerian internationals effort will go down as a Will Miller goal, after it clipped Miller just before it hit the back of the net. 1-1 it finished on the south coast tonight.
